Tracey began dancing at her local dance studio at the age of 5, and faithfully took classes in tap, ballet and jazz through high school. She participated in a time-release school program for a year that allowed her to train five days a week in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern. During her early years, she also participated in Cecchetti ballet conferences and dance competitions. Then, during college, she continued dancing while studying Early Childhood Education. Upon graduation Tracey taught at a local studio in the Baltimore area. She has been with My Dance Studio teaching various ages and styles of dance since 2004 and as of 2020 is now the Artistic Director and owner of the studio with her business partner, Megan Knepper.
Growing up locally, Tara took dance instruction starting at age 4. She’s had exposure to Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Acro and Pointe classes in Cumberland, Hagerstown and Walkersville. During these years she had various roles in the Nutcracker and participated in & hosted Russian Ballet Dance Camps. She began teaching as well at age 16, in Ballet, Tap and Jazz both locally and in Salisbury. Tara has a Masters Degree in Education and works with Washington Co. Public Schools as a Curriculum Specialist for Elementary Science.
This will be her 5th year with My Dance Studio.
Jillian began dancing at My Dance Studio at the age of 8 taking classes in ballet, tap, jazz, acro and lyrical. She studied dance at
Barbara Ingram School for the Arts. During her time there, she was cast as a dancer in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Phantom of the Opera, along with annual dance recitals and performances. She continued dancing at My Dance Studio through high school and was a Teacher Helper for many years. After graduating from BISA, she became an Assistant Teacher with Ms Lezlee. Jillian graduated Kent State and has a Master's degree through WVU. She is a teacher at Hickory Elementary School.
Megan is the My Dance Studio Business Director and owner with Tracey. Megan is also Music Director at her church where she leads the praise team and choir and plays the guitar and piano. She is also a music therapist and owned a music therapy business for 16 years before stepping back to spend more time with family. Through that experience she learned the ins and outs of running a business. Megan has 4 children. She is excited to be a part of the My Dance Studio family. Sarah works full time as a nursing assistant. However, she’s always had a passion for dance. She’s been dancing 12 years and spent a year as a trainee with the Joffrey Ballet School. Her training has included Ballet, Contemporary Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Contemporary, Jazz, Street Jazz, and Hip-Hop. She’s been teaching for 5 years and she loves sharing her passion with students. Teaching dance is one of the most rewarding parts of her dance journey. She looks forward to sharing her love of dance to the next generation of artists.
Maddie is a college student at Shippensburg majoring in Social Work. She danced for 15 years at A&B dance studio in Waynesboro. She began teaching dance by assisting a pre-pointe dance class for one year. She then continued for three more years teaching Jazz 1, Jazz 4, Hip hop 1 and a special needs class. Teaching dance is a fun and rewarding experience that she has enjoyed for a long time. She is excited to share her love for the art with her students here at My Dance Studio!
Annie is attending Hagerstown Community College part-time. She has danced for three years. She took ballet, hip-hop, acro, and modern. Annie was also a gymnast for four years of her life and two years at the high school! This year she will help teach acro. She is super excited for this fun year!
