It’s Showtime! In a few short weeks we will be ready to celebrate all of our hard work together by presenting “Our 21st Annual Dance Recital”. The time ahead of us will be busy with rehearsals and activities that will lead up to our performance on June 9th. This is the last newsletter for the season.

It is not required that you pre-register but if you want to keep your current class day/time or your suggested move-up class, we urge you to do so. If you are interested in any other class day/time, please check with us. Registration begins May 5 and we currently do have a waitlist for some classes. Forms along with registration fee ($15/dancer or $25/family) must be received no later than June 9th, otherwise you may lose your spot. Registration will be open to the public right after recital.

Wednesday evening all Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Acro, and Ballet dancers have dress rehearsal starting at 5pm. On Thursday, all dancers in the leveled ballet classes that also take tap, ballet, jazz or lyrical have dress rehearsal at 5pm. Many of you will be at both nights of rehearsal. Please reread the recital notes attached to the emailed version of this newsletter. If a child misses 2 classes in the month of May and/or a rehearsal, they may not be allowed to be in the recital. This is for the child’s confidence as well as consideration for their group. The performance is 7pm on Friday, June 9. Dancers must arrive at 6:15 and enter through the side door with no more than 1 adult and the audience enters through the main door starting at 6:30.

That’s all for now! Please don’t hesitate to ask questions – we want everyone to be well-informed. Call, text, or email and we will get back to you promptly. Get ready for a great show and thank you for your continued support!

April 2023
As we practice each week the excitement builds for our “21 th Annual
Recital”. It is a wonderful experience and quite a journey for everyone
as we all work together from September to June. On the reverse side of
this newsletter or in a link, you will find highlights of the “Recital Meeting” that was held
in March.
*Recital Day is June 9!! We have rehearsals June 7 & June 8 from 5-8 pm each
evening. There will be 1 recital performance June 9 @ 7pm. See the recital notes for
more specific information about the rehearsal and recital expectations.
*Come into the lobby during the month of April and proofread the spelling of your
child’s name for the program and recital t-shirt. See details in the lobby observation
window.
* Early Registration for Fall ’22-‘23 You will receive a postcard in the mail indicating
the recommended class placement for your dancer for next year. Review the postcard
and bring it with you for your dancer’s picture session in May. You may register while
your dancer is getting photos taken. Forms along with registration fee ($15/family or
$25/family) must be received no later than June 8 to secure your placement. It is not
required that you register early, but if you want to keep your class day/time or your
suggested move-up class, we urge you to do so. Some classes fill quickly. Registration
for brand new students begins June 12th.
*Picture Day is Friday & Saturday, May 5 & 6. Check your email for information from

We want dancers to feel confident and have fun on stage. Poor attendance negatively
impacts the dancer who misses classes and the rest of the group. We depend on one
another!

March 2023
*We have started preparing for our recital, learning, growing and working together as a group. We have
so much fun and we all look forward to the “Big Day”. Here is some information as we look ahead to “Our
21st Annual Dance Recital”.
*3 Important Reminders!!! Please remember ballet classes must wear hair in a bun & short hair must be
pulled back in an elastic headband. Ponytails are permitted for tap, jazz, beginner, advanced beginner
and lyrical classes. Thank you to the dancers who are faithful in dressing appropriately for class. Water
bottles may be brought to class, but must contain water. We cannot have any sugary drinks on the
dance floor. Lastly, no cell phone use allowed in the classroom. Phones must stay in dance bags
during and between classes. We appreciate your cooperation in teaching your children the discipline
and art of dance.
*Also, as we are preparing for the recital, attendance is very important. Children need to be in class in
order to learn placement & choreography because it affects everyone. We work together and depend on
each other as a group. It helps to come and watch instead of not attending at all (unless you are sick).
And we do appreciate a call to let us know if you are going to be out.
*Our “21st Annual Dance Recital” is confirmed for Friday, June 9 at 7pm. The location is Lifehouse
Church in Hagerstown, MD. Save the date!
*Dress rehearsals are June 7 and June 8 from 5-8pm. Beginners, Advanced Beginners and Acro ONLY
come to rehearsal June 7. If you are in the leveled ballet classes and ONLY take ballet, you also solely
come to the June 7 rehearsal. Everyone else attends both rehearsal nights. Parents need to stay with
their children for the rehearsal nights. Dressing rooms will be available, but there will be no dance staff to
supervise the areas. More information will be discussed at the Recital Meeting. Check the Recital Board
in the lobby periodically to stay informed.
*The Recital Meeting is on Tuesday, March 14. This meeting is to provide information & answer questions
especially for new dance parents. We will discuss everything involved during the “recital season”. The meeting
will begin at 8:00pm and last 45 minutes to an hour. We strongly urge new parents to attend, but all are
welcome.
*Recital Fees are due by Saturday, March 18. This is $65.00/family and covers the cost of auditorium rental,
lighting & sound techs, and any other costs that are involved with the performance.
*During the week of March 6-11, you will receive an email with a link to sign up for recital tights. If in
doubt…size up! Everyone will receive one pair of tights at no extra cost. If you want, we can order your
tights for jazz/tap/acro or extra ballet tights. Extra tights are $10 each. All orders (even for the free pair) &
payment must be received by March 25th.
*Picture Weekend is set for Friday & Saturday, May 5 & 6. This year our photos will be taken at our studio and
group pictures will not be able to be photoshopped. Thus, we will be sending out a schedule as soon as we can
so you will know when your dancer needs to be at the studio with their class. There will be no dance classes held
on these dates.
*Easter break is April 3-8. There will be no classes this week.
As always, we appreciate your continued support and if you have any questions, please feel free to call or text us
